This decorative Purim Plate features an illustration of Haman leading Mordechai on horseback, as recounted in Megilat Esther, or scroll of Esther.
In a semi-circle above the illustration reads the Hebrew text, "Kacha ya’aseh la’ish asher hamelech chafets bejekaro" ( This is what is done for the man whom the king desires to honor.), Esther 6:13. Under the picture is written Mordechai Haman. The Hebrew text on the rim reads: “Shlach manot ish lere’aho vematanot le’evyonim" (Send choice portions to one another and gifts to the poor), Esther 9:23.
This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a small description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
