Wonderfully enrich your personal collection of art with this beautiful lithograph of Israeli artist Nahum Gutman's work "Orchards in Jaffa." Vibrantly colored, this work depicts people crossing through the lush fields and orchards of Jaffa in the early 20th century under a clear blue sky. A fantastic depiction of early 20th century life in the Land of Israel, this lithograph is a terrific way of adding an element of contemporary Israeli art to your home décor.
Nahum Gutman was born in Romania and immigrated to Israel in 1905, where he began studying art at Bezalel in Jerusalem. He soon rebelled against the traditional teaching methods, and ploughed ahead alone to create his own distinctive style. His art depicted a hidden, exotic Middle East, and won him acclaim both in Israel and across the world. Gutman was also a celebrated children’s author and illustrator, even winning the Israel Prize for Children’s Literature. His work is displayed in the eponymous Gutman Museum in Tel Aviv.
