It's been a good year for Israel's Recanati Wineries! At the 2009 Vinalies Internationales competition in Paris, this Israeli wine won the gold medals in its category.
The Wine
Recanati Special Reserve is a full-bodied red wine, blended each year from our finest Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, as the ultimate expression of the winemakers art. Designed to satisfy the most discerning palates, its bouquet combines the scents of cassis, black cherries, tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, roasted coffee and nutmeg. These ripe berry and spice flavors linger on the palate to culminate in a long aftertaste with velvety yet firm and well-integrated tannins, which assure a rich reward for the patient wine collector.
Harvest
Scrupulous examination of the vineyards during harvest reveals the best plots designated for Recanati Special Reserve. The grapes are harvested at optimal physiological maturity, according to taste, berry color and softness, and tannin development.
Serving
Serve Recanati Special Reserve at cool room temperature to savor its deep body and extraordinary complexity. This superb wine best accompanies red meats or Moroccan tangines of veal and lamb, simmered with fruit, almonds and oriental spices.
