This gorgeous challah cover will add a touch of color and distinction to your Sabbath table!  A beautifully stylized colorful Old Jerusalem scene featuring a prominent Tower of David has the word Shabbat in Hebrew floating above.  The motifs are outlined in gold or black and hand-painted on silk with unique colors using a brush.  The fabric undergoes a fixation process to make it color-fast.  This will be a treasured centerpiece in anyone's Sabbath home!

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem.  Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio.  The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
