The design of this plate was inspired by a late 19th-century Passover plate from Alsace. The border is decorated with ivy and Hebrew words Pesach (the pascal lamb), Matza (unleavened bread), amd Maror (bitter herbs), three essential components of the Passover seder. The painting in the center depicts the exodus from Egypt.
This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a small description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
