On March 10, 1949, Israeli forces captured what would become Israel's southern port city of Eilat without a battle.  A hastily drawn flag (ink on cloth) was hoisted on a makeshift flagpole, and the moment was immortalized by a photographer.  The text to the side reads the ink flag.
