Limited edition original serigraph. Signed and numbered by the artist.
Size: 19cm x 45 cm/7.4" x 17.7"
This long serigraph is a wonderfully abstract piece that would make a beautiful addition to any home or workplace. At the top, a woman can be seen staring dreamily from the window: below her, a wonderful collage of images rises up like her dreams. A woman playing the guitar merges into a set of houses, where a bird and a fish sit on the rooftops. The blue starry sky makes a wonderful foil to the pale buildings and skin.
Samy Briss was born to a Jewish family in Romania in 1930, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest before traversing Europe and settling in Israel in 1960. He now lives and works in Paris, painting fabulous and unusual pieces which are surrealist and neo-primitive in style, and nostalgic and symbolic to look at. His work has been displayed across the world in Israel, the USA, and in major European countries including Belgium, Holland, Germany, France and Switzerland.
