This bright blue design, by David Fisher, is printed straight onto the bottom of a round, 6mm-thick glass tray. Gentle patterns hide in each section, different colors and shapes showing. The words Shabbat shalom are outlined, making them easy to read. The curves of the letters continue along the tray, crossing each other and separating the tray into multiple areas. Each part is a new color, with a pattern of leaves or flowers in the background. Blue is the strong theme, but other colors such as yellow and green make appearances, turning this tray into something interesting. The glass and four sturdy legs strengthen the tray, composing a strong form that will last for long.

The technology used for printing ensures that the design is durable, with multiple layers providing depth. The glass is five times stronger than regular glass. The technology was developed in Israel, and is the top digital glass printing company in the world.

David Fisher, born in Jerusalem, is an Israeli graphic designer who has revived the traditional Jewish art form of paper cutting, that goes back to at least the Middle Ages, through utilizing a modern laser cut technology. Together with his expertise in Hebrew typography, the technique of arranging and designing text, these acclaimed works of art are a beautiful portrayal of Jewish blessings, prayers, symbols and decorative motifs.
