Hamasrek Chardonnay. Vintage 2005

This wine was produced from 100% chardonnay grape. The grapes were grown in the Judean Hills near Jerusalem and were hand harvested by the owner personally. Production was done in the family owned, operated, and managed winery. The special method for this specific varietal gives the wine wonderfully intensive aromas with firm acidity.

Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were completed in new French oak barrels and cool stainless steel tanks. This combination kept the grapes' aromas and added body to the wine without creating an overly woody taste on the palate. The wine was held "sur lie" for twelve months in the same barrels and tanks.

Enjoy this wine with lightly meats, duck breast, fish or cheese.

Serve chilled between 10-12?C / 50-54?F

Hamasrek is a kosher boutique winery located in Beit-Meir a lovely village in the Judean Hills near Jerusalem. This area is known as one of the best areas for growing grapes in Israel and was well known for producing extraordinary wines as far back as the Roman Empire.

The winery was built with new only equipment acquired from the best manufacturers in Italy and combines that with Old World techniques.

All wines are produced in very small quantities with detailed attention to the quality of their wines.

 
The Greengrass brothers who own the winery are third generation to live in Beit Meir. They manage the production by themselves, beginning with the selection of the grapes through the bottling, thereby assuring worldclass wines that adhere to their high standards.
