We are proud to present an exciting line of Artistic Judaica by Yair Emanuel.

This gorgeous pomegranate ornament is actually made from recycled paper turned into a paper mache (papier mâché). The radiant design features a charming Jerusalem motif,  hand-painted with a brush using acrylic colors and then lacquered.  A truly charming piece of artwork that will add beautiful color and positive energy to any room in the house!

As this piece is covered with special lacquer, it is totally functional and and may be gently hand-washed.

A classic Jewish decorative motif, the pomegranate has been grown for thousands of years in the Mediterranean region, and is referenced throughout the Bible as one of the 7 species native to the Land of Israel. In addition, the pomegranate has some of the deepest and richest symbolism in Judaism as its many seeds symbolize the abundance of righteousness, prosperity and wisdom.

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
