This colorful ceramic mezuzah case will add a fantastic splash of blue, yellow, green, and red to any doorpost it adorns! The Hebrew letter Shin which stands for one of G-d's names (Shin-Dalet-Yud) is printed on the top left corner.
You should attach your mezuzah to the top left corner of every door in your house--especially the entrance. It's known to have special powers.
The Torah actually commands us to attach a mezuzah to our doorposts as a sign that the place is inhabited by Jews. This tradition comes from the tenth plague that G-d punished the Egyptians with, killing every Egyptian first-born.
He commanded the Jews to slaughter a baby he-goat (which was worshipped as a "god" by the Egyptians) and sprinkle its blood on their doorposts so that the Angel of Death would "pass" their houses: hence the term "Pesach" or "Passover."
It features cheerful colorful Old Jerusalem motif.
Each individual item is hand made with ceramic clay. Once complete it is placed in an oven at temp. 1000°C until hardened. Each piece is then hand painted using metallic and oxidized paint in order to keep its natural color.
Again it is returned to the oven at the same temperature and finished with fine glazing.
Please note: Mezuzah scroll not included.
