This silver tetradrachm shows the head of a horse with a palm tree on his right, both popular motifs of decoration in the Sicilo-Punic civilization.  The Punic inscription indicates that the people of the region lived in camps.  The original coin was struck in Sicily in the 4th century BCE.

This item comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a short description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
