This tray, designed by David Fisher, is unique. In a small circle centered on the tray read the words Shana tova, in bright colors and with flowers surrounding it. Encompassing that circle is a larger one with the seven species of Israel in it. The design is bordered by a wide stripe of swirls, closing the circle and completing the look. Using new technology, the paper-cut design was printed directly onto the bottom of this 6mm thick glass.
The technology used for printing ensures that the design is durable, with multiple layers providing depth. The glass is five times stronger than regular glass. The technology was developed in Israel, and is the top digital glass printing company in the world.
Tray is easily washable. Not dishwasher-safe. Do not use acidic materials to clean the tray.
David Fisher, born in Jerusalem, is an Israeli graphic designer who has revived the traditional Jewish art form of paper cutting, that goes back to at least the Middle Ages, through utilizing a modern laser cut technology. Together with his expertise in Hebrew typography, the technique of arranging and designing text, these acclaimed works of art are a beautiful portrayal of Jewish blessings, prayers, symbols and decorative motifs.
