Yitzhak Meir has had quite a life. The son of an important rabbi and the brother of a major journalist, Yitzhak himself spent many years in some of Israel's top Yeshivas before enlisting in the IDF and serving in a combat unit in enemy territory in the Second Lebanon War. And the whole time music, especially sacred Sababth music, has been the soundtrack escorting him through life.
A few years ago Yitzhak Meir started a popular music program, "Sabbath on Thursday Night," in which he would gather with well known and unknown religious and secular musicians and jam traditional Sabbath songs and melodies. This wonderful disc is the fruit of those many collaborations.
