Here's a look you haven't seen before!  A solid piece of silver has been sculpted to reveal the Hebrew letters Aleph - Lamed - Dalet in relief on a circular disk base.  The texture left behind is reminiscent of wood grain.

The letters are one of the Kabbalistic names of God; it is said to offer the wearer protection against the evil eye.

The back of the pendant is inscribed with the Biblical verse Ben Porat Yosef ("A fruitful son is Yosef (Joseph).") (Genesis 49:22).  This verse, like the letters on the front,  has been traditionally associated with protection from the evil eye.
