The Tanach, or Jewish Bible, is compromised of the Torah, Nevi’im- the book of Prophets and Ketuvim- the book of Writings- all of which are read at some point throughout the year. Judaism values questioning and in-depth learning so we have enhanced our collection of Tanachs. Not only do we carry Hebrew, English and Hebrew-English Tanachs but also books on commentary so that you can get a deeper look into the history of the Jewish people and life lessons. A powerful and necessary book, no Jewish home is complete without it.
A brand new, handsomely bound, authoritative Torah is a great gift for the scholar in your life, to mark a coming of age, a graduation or a marriage. Our Torahs include a fine collection of Bibles from Koren publishers. These volumes are handsomely bound in classic colors. Specific editions are adapted in their publication to meet your needs. There are editions fit for travel, large-print editions, and editions designed especially for public reading. There are also special translations from important Jewish intellectuals as well as illuminated and illustrated editions.
Torah Commentary and Annotated Versions
The next best thing to enrolling in a course is to read what accomplished scholars have compiled on the Torah. You might want to study alone, or you might choose to start your own study group. We have a large selection of Torah commentary that educates the reader on multiple approaches to the Holy Book, including Chassidic perspectives and Zionist perspectives. There are also many commentaries on specific books of the Torah, written by celebrated Jewish intellectuals. There are also volumes that take a political-geographical approach to the Torah, using maps and historical information from throughout history to shed light on the ancient text. Finally, we offer several guides to approaching the weekly Torah portion. These volumes are intended to encourage reflection and analysis as you move through the Torah.
