Yair Emanuel Small Shield Tapestry - Remember Jerusalem (Hebrew)

This gorgeous embroidered tapestry is so wonderful, your living room or bedroom will never be the same!  At the bottom is a detailed Old Jerusalem motif.  In the center, in Hebrew, is the Biblical verse from King David's wisdom, If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither (Psalms 137:5). A beautiful prayer for our times, and a wonderful gift for anybody.

The fringes are made from glass and metal beads.  The tapestry may be hung from the attached string.

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem.  Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio.  The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk applique and painting on wood.
