Add a beautiful element of contemporary Israeli art to any room in your home with this beautiful lithograph from Israeli artist Moshe Castel. Richly colored, this work portrays a wedding feast in the old Yishuv of Jerusalem, with celebrants sitting around a table in traditional Ottoman-era garb. A wonderful work of art, this lithograph will make a wonderful gift for a wedding, a housewarming, a birthday or any other special occasion.Â
Born to a Rabbinic family in 1909, Moshe Castel was accepted into the Bezalel Art School aged just 13. After four years he moved to Paris, where he worked and studied for 13 years before returning to Israel and the mystical holy city of Safed in Northern Israel. His vibrant work uses unusual media to create exceptional pieces depicting Bible stories, Sephardic culture and life in Israel. His work is displayed in several prominent Israeli institutions, including the Knesset (Israel’s parliament), the Rockerfeller Center in New York, and the President’s home in Jerusalem.
