Painted Glass, Hand-Pulled Serigraphy, Lithography

Size: 20cm x 25cm / 8" x 10"

This gorgeous piece shows a group of jazz musicians playing their instruments, while a woman in a red dress sings. The musicians' outfits are made from pages of sheet music, and the yellow background adds to the joyous atmosphere associated with jazz and swing!

Paris-born artist Jean-Pierre Weill was raised in New York, where he studied and perfected his technique and form at the School of Visual Arts. Aside from his multi-dimensional oil canvas paintings, he is best known for innovating a new art form called vitreography: by painting arrangements across layered sheets of glass, he created three-dimensional framed art capturing still life arrangements, landscapes, and fanciful, imaginative scenes. His innovation has earned him wide-spread accolade across Israel and the world.
