This gorgeous wall hanging is so wonderful, your living room will never be the same! The Hebrew/Aramaic text paraphrases the Babylonian Talmud (Ta'anit 5b-6a):
Oh tree, oh tree; how shall I bless you? Your fruit [is already] sweet. Your shade [is already] pleasant. A spring of water [already] passes under you. Rather, may it be His will that all your offspring will be like you.
The beautiful words apply literally to trees and nature, and metaphorically to a righteous person's physical and spiritual wealth, and to his offspring.
The fringes are made from glass and metal beads. The mounting rod is made from brass pipe with brass finials. The tapestry is mounted with two screws secured into the wall under the rod, or from the attached string.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
